At the time of design and construction of CentrePoint there was no system in Vietnam to measure the environmental performance of a building so Refico adopted the Australian ‘Green Star’ system governed by the Green Building Council of Australia.

This system accounts for similar climatic conditions to Vietnam and has been established in a mature property market. It takes into account criteria under the management, energy use, transport, water, materials, land use, emissions and innovation of a commercial development. Therefore the design team believed that Refico could produce a building that was unique to Vietnam and appealed to companies who wanted to reduce operating costs and comply with their corporate environmental and social responsibilities. Refico's outlook is to build a better Vietnam.
